About VROOOMS

What Is VROOOMS?

VROOOMS is a free, browser-based internet speed test with a racing-inspired presentation. It measures download speed, upload speed, round-trip latency (shown in a ping-style way), and jitter on your current network path, then layers optional racing themes and multiplayer hooks so results feel like more than a single static number.

How We Measure Your Speed

The product uses the same public HTTPS endpoints you can inspect in this codebase: timed download runs stream multi-megabyte payloads, uploads post repeated binary chunks, and latency samples use small JSON responses. Measurements execute in your browser session over HTTPS—similar in spirit to everyday browsing and web traffic—so results reflect the path you are actually using.

For a deeper explanation of what those metrics mean in practice, see what an internet speed test actually tells you, or read the dedicated methodology page linked below.

Why We Built It Differently

Many speed tests stop at a dashboard of numbers. VROOOMS keeps the same underlying throughput and latency signals but frames them so the outcome is easier to remember and share—because context and comparison matter when you are deciding if your line feels right for streaming, calls, or play.

The VROOOMS Race Rooms

After you measure your connection you can explore Race Rooms—multiplayer flows that line you up with other real sessions in comparable speed classes so you can see how your run stacks up socially, not only in isolation.

The Speed Board

The Speed Board ranks racers by peak download speed from public and ghost races over the last 30 days—handles, cars, and connection classes, not network providers. Opt in at lock-in to claim your spot on the pole board.
