Yes. Each run moves real data in both directions—often tens of megabytes, more on faster lines. Prefer Wi-Fi if you are on cellular.
ISPs quote "up to" speeds under ideal lab conditions. Your result reflects your path right now—congestion, Wi-Fi, and connected devices all play a role.
